We've taken my original "Bookish" scarf, and recolored it to celebrate our nation's 250th.  This version features books by our founding fathers (from Poor Richard's Almanack, Common Sense, the Federalist Papers to Rules of Civility & Decent Behavior in Company and Conversation by George Washington.  Also included are works that would have been found in our first presidents' libraries, by writers such as John Locke, Adam Smith and Aristotle.   Each scarf will come with a card detailing the writings featured, as shown in the photographs.

Hand painted artwork reproduced as a cotton / linen / model rectangular scarf,  200 cm x 70 cm.  The scarf can be worn loosely around one's neck as a fashion accessory, draped over one's shoulders for a bit of warmth on a cool evening, or wound several times around the neck when the weather turns chilly, all of which makes it perfect for travel.   Dry cleaning recommended.

"The American experiment was shaped not only by courage, but by books.  The Founding Fathers read deeply in history, economics, philosophy, science and scripture - and entered that long tradition as writers themselves.  This scarf gathers the books that informed a revolution."
