9/13/21 - Falling into the Forest
Why I went to the woods ... unfortunately it was not to follow in the footsteps of Henry David Thoreau. I went to the woods because a fall collection is really hard for me to design. I don't like brown or orange or rust or gold. I like coral and aqua and pink and lilac. I like sitting by the ocean, or being in it or atop it. I like the feel of the sun on my brow, and the garden getting more glorious everyday. I get a mean case of the blues every year when summer ends.
8/30/21 - Back to School
I hope the children in your world are well and thriving as they step back into their school year. When I was a little girl, I was always dorky enough that I looked forward to the start of school each fall. And also to getting that brand new box of 64 pristinely beautiful Crayola crayons. When I became a mother, things switched and I dreaded the beginning of the school year, which meant an end to the unstructured days of carefree summer fun for me and my two boys.
8/16/21 - August Postcard from Maine
Greetings from glorious "Vacationland" (the Maine license plates actually say Vacationland). We have enjoyed our beautiful first two weeks in my idea of paradise, but the last two days have been full of fog, to the point where the sea salt in my little salt dish is all clumped together. A perfect opportunity to pick up the proverbial pen, or keyboard, as it were.
