I am a book nerd. I aspire to be even more of a one. My reading goes in phases, and I am getting back into a good one. Books do so many things - they make us put down our phones, transport us to nooks and crannies all over the globe, allow us to time travel, spark conversations with people whose opinions we value, help us question what we assumed we already knew, allow us to bear witness to the the struggles, decisions and triumphs of others. Tending Your Winter Garden 1/6/25
A lot of us are waking up into a deep freeze this morning, perhaps gazing softly out over a blanket of newly fallen snow. Winter is my least favorite season, yet with the first big snowfall, I find myself back in my 7 year old self, delighting in the wonder of this overnight miracle. Down and out, and deeply depressed, our protagonist Nora has the chance to magically remake a major life decision, and then to step into the life which would have ensued from her revised choice.
